Lessons from Super Bowl LI

What a game last night! It was one of the best Super Bowls of all time. The game seemed like it was over. The Falcons lead of 28-3 looked to be insurmountable. And then the unimaginable happened. The Patriots came all the way back and won in overtime.

As I watched the game transpire I stared realizing there was a lot that could be learned. In business, there will be times when nothing is going your way, you are down and the task at hand seems almost impossible. Your instinct is to make radical changes, seek a quick fix or look for the Hail Mary to get you out of the situation. This rarely works. The Patriots proved this last night.

If you are confident in your plan, stick to it when things are temporarily going against you. Keep grinding your way through. Give maximum effort every hour of every day. Work for each other as a team with one goal in mind. Work overtime. Do whatever it takes to be successful. This is as true in business as it is football.

At the end of the night I was thankful for the truly entertaining game and the lessons available in the comeback.
