Local Clients Stepping Up and Adapting to Challenges Created by COVID-19

Columbus, Ohio

NAI Ohio Equities has been a locally owned business since 1971, and as such, we want to stress the importance of supporting our fellow central Ohio companies during the current COVID-19 pandemic.

While continuing to service our clients during this pandemic, the Industrial Property Team (IPT) is working in every capacity possible. Because of the current situation, we have had to adapt in order to do business. Virtual meetings and additional video marketing are just a couple new things we have implemented.

However, the changes in our business pale in comparison to those made by our clients. We want to take this opportunity to highlight the innovations some of them have implemented to keep their businesses going while providing services and luxuries to everyone during the state’s stay-at-home order.

Cleveland-based Produce One, currently operating at 3882 Agler Road in Columbus, is a supplier of fresh produce, domestic and imported specialty and gourmet foods and other fine products to the restaurant industry and other institutions. They are now offering, directly to the public, pre-made boxes of assorted fruits and vegetables that can be picked up at their Cleveland, Columbus or Dayton facilities. Individuals can also donate a box to a Healthcare Hero. https://premier-produceone-grocery.myshopify.com/

Late last year, our team helped Friendship Fitness find a second home for their gym in Lewis Center, Ohio. Considering this is an industry that has been shuttered, it was a necessity for them to do something different. They are now offering workouts and healthy recipe ideas to their members and social media followers. https://friendshipfitness.com/

Our team also assisted 1487 Brewing in locating their facility in Plain City. They brew German-style beer and were scheduled to open in the second quarter of 2020. Similar to Friendship Fitness, their industry was forced to close. Starting in mid-May, 1487 Brewing will be offering carryout beer with delivery options as well. https://www.1487brewery.com/

Other local business, such as Michael’s Finer Meats & Seafoods on the West Side of Columbus, have pivoted as well. Michael’s provides quality meat, seafood and poultry products primarily to the restaurant industry. Michael’s has always had direct to consumer options. However, now they have expanded their selection and offer family packs available for delivery. This is a fantastic way to stock up your freezer without leaving home while also helping a local business in the process. All of our team members have placed orders. https://shop.chefswarehouse.com/collections/ohio

Local business are the fabric of any economy and our team wants to encourage everyone do their part. Curt, Blake, Kaydee and I have been contributing to our local businesses and neighbors by ordering carryout from restaurants, buying from local wine distributors and breweries, and even buying from local farmers.

These businesses need us now more than ever. If you want to have the same comforts and quality of life once this national emergency is over, do your part to help the companies that are trying to aid their communities.

Thank you to all our clients and all local businesses that are still operating and adapting their business to cater to the current needs of the community!
